Evidently, the Emu was only interested in tasting my shirt, and not my magnetic personality.
In case you missed the disclaimer on the other image, I'll repeat it here. I wasn't trying to convince the Emu to come play, my shirt evidently just looked tasty. I mention this because, unfortunately, several people were petting, feeding and playing with the animals, which you are not supposed to do. Keeping an animal happy and healthy in a zoo is no small challenge and, in addition to introducing new germs, the added stress of being touched and teased by humans can seriously compromise an animal's health. Okay, that's the end of my lecture.
